Yvonne Pineiro - ”Keeping the art in quilling” is my heart’s desire. Truly I have come to love this ancient art form and each time I get an inspiration to create a new and original piece, I strive to take it to a higher level than the last piece. There is a special satisfaction in making something of beauty with your hands and knowing that you are doing everything you can to keep this art form alive brings joy to the heart. I believe this desire is part of the creativity God has given us as human beings.
As an artist I strive to design elegant pieces and I have shared many of those designs with my students over the last couple of years. I have been teaching quilling to all ages for some time now and I really enjoy sharing my ideas and excitement about quilling.
I incorporate quilling into almost everything I create. There is nothing that cannot be embellished with quilling. I use quilling in my scrapbooks, many invitation designs, event favors, cards, framed pieces such as special photos, birth announcements, wedding memory displays and much much more.
Quilling is seeing a resurgence right now and it is a good time to introduce it to more people. It is extremely relaxing and therapeutic and easily transportable. It goes everywhere with me. What can I say, it is addicting.
